I always get paranoid thinking the longer I have a torrent running the more likely I'll get a copyright infringement letter.

Torrents are a way of downloading big files, like movies or games for free. Downloading one is "leeching" the torrent, and once you finish downloading you can become a "seeder" which lets others download faster at the expense of your internet speed.
