I've been trying nofap for years and I'm starting to think I've got the causality backwards. I think it's not fapping and porn that makes you miserable, but feeling miserable about yourself that makes you want to use porn.

I've known Chads who fapped to the most degenerate porn and they didn't feel bad about themselves. It's obvious why, because they are Chads, they feel good about themselves no matter what. Whereas someone like me can cut porn and fapping for months upon months and nothing really has changed.

You feel bad after you watch porn and fap because you know you can't get sex, so you feel bad about yourself after getting off to other people having sex. That's my guess. It's all about self-image and self-worth.
