There really is some truth to this. Most people can just lose a ton of weight by just cutting out junk food. Beyond that, cutting portions can help a ton, too. I lost a shit ton of weight over the course of a year or so barely even exercising or paying attention to my diet. I guess I just ate a little less than normal and drank a little more water than normal. I was amazed when one day I stepped on the scale and I weighed so much less.

In my case, however, right in the cusp of my weight goal, I plateaued. I guess now I actually have to pay attention to my diet and shit. Be careful, might happen to you too.

Exercise is necessary for health, but not for weight loss.

All calories are equal in terms of losing weight.
If you eat 1000 calories/day, you'll lose weight, regardless of whether you eat them in the form of broccoli or deep fried butter.

But of course int terms of how you feel, there are a lot of issues.
Anything that's short lived (sugars and simple carbs) will give you a spike and a crash in energy levels.
Fats and protein tend to be more stable for me.
Another thing that I noticed doing for a while was eating a piece of bread every hour or so. It worked too.

The bottom line is that you should put a caloric quota and fill it with whatever feels right.
At least for me, spinach or fish always feels healthier than fatty pork or french fries.

Just Google "glycemic index." You want foods with the lowest possible GI. The absolute worst foods are white bread and instant rice. They're worse than spoonfuls of table sugar. Legumes are good, raw vegetables are good. Most berries are good, if you want a sweet treat, but avoid fruits. Bananas in particular contain huge amounts of sucrose.

I take supplements so I get plenty of vitamins and stuff, and honestly you'd be surprised at how much food you can make with 200-300 cals if you stick to veggies and fruits.

I have type 1 diabetes, so I'm a bit more aware of this than most people since I have to manually do my insulin. Generally this is true, at least when you break your fast, but until you do that your blood sugar is likely to shoot up.

Obviously, and you get flooded with insulin, but then you have another fasting period to recover.

Overall the research shows that this kind of diet reduces insulin resistance.

Granted the anon in question should probably space his calories out over the course of a few hours rather than one huge meal, but I still think he's better off than the standard pattern of eating 3 meals + snacks.
