Yeah, depression causes brain damage. It shrinks your hippocampus up to 20%, attacks generally your brain cells, and destroys your body by attacking the end of your telomeres, therefore damaging your whole body, making you sick, weakening you and altering aging.
Basically, depression is a self-destruction mechanism mentally as well as physically.
The pills wont help, they will just melt your brain even more, and most of the time wont work.
Your only chance is to find the root of what makes you unhappy and depressed, and then change your life until you are happy with yourself
