The whole point of welfare isn't to be a leech, it's meant as a means to help you prop yourself up so you can then contribute to society one day and pay back into the system through taxes
If you're looking at it as a lifelong thing then yes you're a leech, if you can use it temporarily and then work later then you're not leeching at all.
