I'm warming up some mulled wine right now. I haven't had it before, no one sold the packets where i live and making it from scratch meant buying a lot of spices and effort in general. But Aldi had some bottled, we'll see if it's any good. I've read posts by Scandanavians saying it's a common thing to buy at markets and festivals during the cooler months, and I'm sure it won't be as good as theirs, but here's hoping.

The wine select is meh. To be fair I haven't tried their (relatively) higher priced ones. Winking Owl is the house brand, only $3 USD - the Pinot Grigio is actually quite good. The Syrah is drinkable but very mediocre. I use them mostly for when I need wine in a recipe. Avoid the beers entirely.
The weekly specials are the real strength at Aldi, and also the fact that you can buy what you need and get out quick. And some good cheeses.
