Since you liked GITS you'll probably like the first two Patlabor movies and Jin-Roh which are by Mamoru Oshii. Kaiba, Humanity Has Declined, Time of Eve and Infinite Ryvius are also pretty thought provoking in different ways.

JoJo is my current favorite, because I tend to favor spectacle over substance when it comes to anime and manga. JoJo does that quite well, with cool designs, fabulous poses and that especially stupid kind of writing that makes it an enjoyable read.
