Malta. You?
A lot of people diss on boxing because no kicks or grapples but it's still very effective. Mike on his prime was a monster.
Kung fu boxing karate Brazilian Kiu jitsu and General kickass
>>24483676
Would you say it's useful m8? I've heard it's nothing but cheap shots to the throat and balls.
>>24483603

>>24484096
Haven't been there long enough to say it's useful.
There's more than cheap shots, too.
>>24483955
Indeed. Fear not the man whose practiced a 10,000 types of punch, fear the man whose practiced a single punch 10,000 times to perfection.
I practice Muay thai, and i think 2 year traditional MT fighter can still beat a 2 year boxer, but it'd be a very good fight, but only because of elbow and knee use.
>>24484163
show us the dim mak
>>24484568
In addition,
Just imagine if Mike also used his elbows and knees. He'd be god
>>24483603
used to do karate and jujitsu, but that was a decade ago
ITT: McDojos

>dat huge torso
why the fuck would he knee somebody?
a boxer's weakness is not the lack of use on other attacks, but the lack of attention to an opponent's knees, kicks and elbows.
I'd still say boxing for self defense is better than other striking arts, though.
I'm an amateur boxer.
It actually hasn't given me as much confidence as I would've hoped. On the plus side I can shit stomp most of the regular population in a 1-on-1 scenario.
>>24484096
I've heard it's pretty watered down outside of you learning it straight from the IDF.
Still gouge the eyes, knee to the balls, and some kind of joint locks(With some striking thrown in there) should still be more than enough for self defense.
>>24485989
>Muay thai
>Boxing
>Judo
>At least two competitive fighters
>ur all mcdojos lol
Stop wih your defeatist putdown bullshit
Been training muay thai over a year. Feelsgoodman to punch and kick people.

How long did you have to practice before you got to spar?
I have some experience and want to spar but I don't know what kinds of martial arts gyms would allow that.
>>24483770
Soon. There are tons of shady "Shotokan" school in my city, but a few of them are recognized by the IKO.
>>24485989
I actually did train at a McDojo when I was a tween. obviously didn't know it at the time but I always had a feeling that something was wrong/off
>>24486607
>Soon. There are tons of shady "Shotokan" school in my city, but a few of them are recognized by the IKO.
brain fart. For some reason I read "kyokushin" but Shotokan is cool too.
>>24486589
I was able to spar after a few months but held off on doing so until I got real comfortable. Finding a good gym is important! Sparring isn't mandatory at my gym and there's a totally separate class for those of us who do spar.
Stay away from a gym that forces you to spar before you feel comfortable and don't be afraid to tell your partner to ease up if you're really getting hurt.

>>24486689
Dude wrestling is the shit. I'm learning MT at a gym that teaches wrestling too, gave it a shot but didn't like the pains in my back. I would've loved to keep up with it. And the injuries there look catastrophic!
Train mma
Pic related, my jiu jitsu coach.
>>24486689
desu I don't consider wrestling to be a martial art. and I mean real collegiate/olympic/amateur wrestling, not the WWF actors.
Muay Thai here. Been doing it for 4 years now.
>tfw too pussy to take semi-pro fight
>>24486894

Martial arts are truely the most robot of sports
>>24483603

>>24488322
>don't have to worry about being picked last for some bullshit team sport
>when playing team sport, only a handful of chads pass each other the ball and you just stand there with your dick in your hand
>should the ball be in your feet/hands you don't know what to do with it because you never get any time with, and it ends up in the other team's possession & they score
>WOW ANON GOOD JOB
>with martial arts, you work at your own pace and you are in control of your own body and your faults are your own
