your hard drive is dead desu
good luck buying a new one
>>
It means it has nothing to boot with. Most likely your hard drive is fucked.

Stop being lazy and google the fucking question yourself.
>>
>>24470480
Your hard drive fucked up. That's the boot device.
>>
>relatively new laptop
>literally nothing wrong with it
>wake up this morning and this happens
How does a hard drive just fucking die guys?
>>
>>24470552
Did your hard drive ever make any noises?
>>
>>24470566
No.
Why is the the robot needed
>>
>>24470552
Something like 25% of hard drives fail.
>>
>>24470583
pretty meaningless statement without a timeframe attached
>>
>>24470552
hdds are most prone to dying when they are new or really old, it's a bathtub curve distribution
>>
Alright let me tell you guys what really happened. I booted it up. Blank screen, the thing was working and everything, just blank screen, wouldn't go to the login thing. I go to the boot settings, set it to default, and then it restarts and I got this. What the hell happened?
>>
>>24470552
Did you overheat it accidentally? I left my laptop on my bed with some CPU-intensive shit running and the harddrive went RIP
>>
>>24470552
The hard drive might just be disconnected in which case you would need to open the laptop up and make sure it's plugged in right. A virus may have also corrupted it or something in which case you would need a CD or bootable flash drive containing your laptop's OS to either repair or format the drive. It shouldn't just break like that unless you have physically damaged it in some way like dropping or smashing it.
>>
>>24470480
Make sure the hard drive is plugged in.
>>
>>24470583
Hard drives last around 4 years.
Most hard drive fatality rates are withing the first few months and around 4 years ore more of age.
You can probably just take it back and get a new one if you have a warranty
>>
>>24470631
How the fuck do I do that

Go into your BIOS (hit the DEL button before the beep), go to boot options to check your boot order and make sure your hard drive is second on the list after your CD-ROM drive (if you have one). It might be looking for a USB drive you had plugged in or something stupid like that.

Make sure everything is plugged in.
If you need help just google the model and hard drive installation instructions.

Also I hope it didn't have a warranty because you just voided it you fucking retard.
>>
>>24470618
Most likely this if it is a new laptop.
>>
>>24470611
Change your boot setting back, could also be thst you just need to repair so have whatever has your OS on it ready to pop in. Most likely answer is hdd failure thoigh
>>
>>24471173
A. How do I change my boot setting back
B. I went into the repair and stuff and the thing said I didn't have a hard drive or a CD rom
