Can someone test my CSS map. It works on my desktop, but not my laptop. Can you see if it runs on your rig and post specs of your rig.
OH YEAH ALSO ITS 230 MEGABYTES

The pic looks nice, can I somehow try it on my 1.6?
>tfw PC can't even run CSS
>>24462280
probably not, you could just drag it into your maps folder and see if it opens
>>24462243
This isn't working on my rig, but im using a pirated version of CSS
>>24462537
Yeah the reason it didn't work on my laptop was because i was using a pirated version of css, because it also didnt work on my desktop using a pirated version of css. In reality, i have no clue if it works on my laptop beacuse ive never ran a legitimate version of css on that laptop
>>24462243
Anon, how the fuck did you make that after Steampipe? I could never get hammer editor to work after that. I was 3/4 the way through a cool hl2 mod I was working on, but that damned updated fucked up my editor beyond belief.
>>24462609
the various source sdk dev tools are located in "[Steam directory]/steamapps/common/[hl2,css,tf2,etc.]/bin" you can find hammer there, as well as all the other shit. I'd recommend "VIDE" for doing the qc model work, vtf shit, map packing etc. because its optimized for after steampipe shit.
so has anyone downloaded this and tried it?
>>24462243
The map runs fine for me btw.
I have a Core2Duo clocked at 2.93ghz with 8 gigs of ram and a GTX 770 Graphics card and I'm using a legal, steam launched copy of CS:S.
>>24462761
And thanks anon, I was just able to open up one of my old maps and was blasted with Nostalgia.
>>24463153
thanks dawg
>>24462243
What are you doing with your life?
>>24463948
I used to exclusively shitpost on a Taiwanese finger painting discussion website, but i decided to become a little more well rounded in my creative endeavors and turned to making an exact replica of my apartment complex in CS:S. Unfortunately i started while i still lived there and since was kicked out by my parents, so periodically i return to take photos of the walls to ensure i recreate everything with 100% detail.

how is my map by the way
i also have a soundcloud

DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS IT MAKES MUSTARD RICE
>>24465105
pls ignore, map is actulaly really enlightening and well balnced, equal oppurtunity for all teams, beautful graphics, features physical destructible walls and vehicle sections
Never liked CS:S, it always seemed like the awkward middle child between the clunky but technical (and also nostalgic)1.6/CZ and the streamlined and overall more fun CS:GO. What's the appeal? Not trying to start an argument, just want some opinions from CS:S fans.
>>24465232
I like the way its the same style as cs 1.6 and has a similar community, but also has more interactive maps (shooting things in cs_office) and better graphics.
CS:GO has all the matchmaking, and new play styles, but i dont really want that. I kinda like getting on some shitty 24/7 office server with 63 people on it. The CS:GO weapon models and animations also feel like shit.

I don't have css installed at the moment, but it looks really good. anyone who get's it to run post screenshots.
>Playing counter strike
Friendly reminder that Insurgency is the superior tactical shooter.
I just played it.
16GB ram
GTX 780
i7 3770k
Blueberry Poptart PCI card
vsync-off, everything else maxed out on 1440p resolution
plays fine for about 50% of the time. but I get -40fps drops in heavy physics areas (which is to say your entire apartment)this map is spooky, the secrets are spooky. why does your apartment have so many guns? Are you Notim Portant?
>>24465610
Yeah im not surprised. Basically i was trying to get it to run on a different computer using a pirated version of CSS and it would crash every time. I wanted to see if it was the maps fault, the computers fault, or the pirated CSS fault.
>>24465783
by im not surprised, i mean im not surprised it ran like shit because its really poorly optimized
Heres a buch of screenshots
>>24465475
well shit gotta porive text to comply

Theres a secret rave accessible through one of the closets. The music that plays is called "Claiming track 2" and was originally submitted to a thread on /mu/ where it became part of the legendary debut album of "the meme friends"

Now that you have steampipe source sdk working, you should finish your mod. I believe in you.
>>24465573
I appreciate that Insurgency has greater realism and a lack of children in casual play, but what do you think makes Insurgency superior?
People who have this opinion tend not to have played counter strike the way it was intended (5v5, coordinated with a team, etc). I'd love to hear an explanation from someone who has actually played counter strike.
>>24467401
i really dont think the two can be compared. Casual insurgency is definitely more team oriented than casual css, so unless youre doing pro css, youre not getting that same team aspect that insurgency offers
>>24467463
>pro css
my fav meme
t. 1.6 semi-pro
>>24462243
Why is the file size so large?
How many custom textures and models do you have?
This map isn't practical because it will take too long to download even on fast DL servers.
>>24467829
practicality or distribution was never the goal. Its huge because i have a twenty minute uncompressed wav file of godspeed you black emporers "storm" playing from one of the radios that you may not be able to hear. Thats probably the biggest problem. The maps also 40 mb without custom content.
The dream is to give it to everyone in my building and have a huge lan party with the entire apartment complex taking place in teh apartment complex
This isn't done by the way, just so you're aware.
well im the op and im going to bed, thanks for all the help is assessing functionality and shit
