ITIL foundation is a good one to get for entry level help desk positions (they usually look for it), and it's really easy to pass the short multiple choice exam with some study.
Then just apply everywhere, it's a numbers game. Once you get your foot in the door you won't struggle to find work again.
If you are really desperate, find a small local charity and offer to do some IT work for them on the basis you can put it on your CV and use them as a reference. That's a pretty painful one though.

Careers advisor gave me a proper bollocking after I told him I was writing about my WoW guild in all my applications.
I've got nothing else to talk about teamwork or adapting to a rapidly changing environment and I thought it was really good.
Tell me what you think:
"I fulfill the role of main tank for my guild in the popular online role-playing game World of Warcraft. Three times a week my guild, consisting of 30 more than people from around the globe, plays together to accomplish certain tasks or defeat bosses. Each member of the team plays has a very specific role which they must fulfill in order to assure our groups success. My role is to direct the enemy and prevent it from attacking other members who are not equipped in heavy armour, so that our damage dealers and healers can focus on avoiding meteors or whatever other tactic is in play without being chased. In the past I have had to adapt when our team was lacking in a particular area, and have moved from tanking to dealing damage - this required reading a new set of tactics and being able to quickly switch tasks. To date, our most challenging fight saw us spending over 30 hours of cumulative time working together to defeat a specific boss (Gorefiend Mythic) with the accompanying sense of achievement and victory making all the sweat and tears worth it."

It's up to you, it all depends on if you value your friendships or your relationship. Most friends are fine with letting a guy distance himself from the group once to be with a girl, make the mistake of pushing away friends then getting dumped/dumping the girl and coming back, but people aren't always welcoming if you've done it before.
It's all up to you, but if she's that clingy then chances are it's not going to last because you'll end up pissing her off too much even when you don't want to because of some shit in her mind.

You really fucked up then in the first place by inviting her. The path of least resistance here is probably cancelling plans with friends and coming up with a bullshit excuse, then spending the evening with her. Friends are probably a lot more forgiving than this crazy bitch. Though you can't do shit like this too often or you risk friendships.
Be more careful in future, plan things a lot better, if you want to deal with crazy, at least be smart about it.
