No, I live in a very small town and lots of places here do it, almost every hair or nail salon does it. Maybe check some reviews so that you don't go to some sketchy person. And get them refilled every 2-3 weeks depending on how fast your eyelashes grow, otherwise they look kind of messy. They help a lot in my opinion.
