I'm an oil painter who works with large canvas and does in studio and plein air work. Acrylic fags look at the stains in horror, digitalfags can't comprehend impasto.

I just ran an experiment of using KD cheese as pigment, results are looking good and I'm pushing into uncharted territory.

Godspeed fine gentlemen.

This. Obvious, cliched opinion, but he's unarguably the GOAT. Although Ligeti comes close.

Some of his stuff is alright but some of it just seems too academic, I don't like the phrase 'emancipation of the dissonance' cause it implies tonality is some evil overlord when it's just a guiding structure formed from observing what good musicians did. Someone said that one of the cool things about schoenberg is that each note exists in its' own world or something like that, but I thought the whole point of music was to weave together notes to make a tapestry of beauty

I want to have a kid just so I can raise him on nothing but the 2nd Viennese School and see if he reacts to Mozart or whatever the same way most people react to Schoenberg.

Need a child disposal service if your seed's a lemon? Look no further. Find understanding in the face of beasts and let your ex's children wither in the sun! Or not, you will never redeem you or your offspring's lives, go away.

It's anyone's guess really. It almost seems impossible that one man could write things so intensely profound and personal, yet there they are. As an amateur composer they make me feel like Salieri; I stand in awe of their genius, but rue that I can't achieve that level

Gimme your favourite violins please. I need some violins. Even modern classical. I need some violins.

Agreed. Truly miraculous music.

Goat choice, amazing at the seven minute mark where all the instruments play in unison. Hard to believe I didn't really like it when I first heard it, but it grows on you. Despite everything, it still ends on a high note. Knowing what he went through it's amazing that his optimism endured. And to think he was deaf for over a decade at this point.

i obviously meant berlioz, dummy :^)
nah i know brahms probably isn't that good but i have a soft spot for him
liszt is complete rubbish though, apart from his schubert arrangements

I bet the hung hungarian banged your wife and that's why you don't like him
>>
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=brahms+rhapsodie+no.+2

Brahms is actually beyond good; not equal to Beethoven or Bach (no one = Bach) but listen to this if you don't know his music and tell me it doesn't convert you.
>>
>>24444052
Hungarian Rhapsodies and Sonata in B Minor are dope.
>>
>>24444019
Yep, still can't believe he composed that and the 9th, among other pieces, after going deaf. Personally I prefer Bach overall, but Beethoven was undoubtedly the most talented composer and maybe human being to have lived.
