Body language (more accurately, non-verbal communication as a whole) is the majority of initial disposition determination in most if not all social encounters. There's a reason why you'll generally end up doing better with a stutter but great body language (confidence et al), than great vocabulary but horrible body language. Although we have the ability to communicate through a comprehensive verbal language, visual cues and whatnot are still incredibly important. Hell, even a simple difference between frowning or smiling, or "closed" vs "open" body language/posture is huge.
If you worry about insecurities a lot (and even if you don't), consider looking up non-verbal communication tips online and practice them.I still have my share of insecurities myself, yet using the proper approach and non-verbal skills for most situations allows me to befriend and acquaint men and women with fair ease, without anyone aware of said insecurities unless I actually tell them (which I obviously only do to close friends at most).
You can do it man, I believe in you. Taking feedback into consideration on its own shows potential for improvement, simple as that.
