Society has guilted women into thinking they need to be working so that they don't reinforce gender roles. Never mind the fact that a parent staying home provides an immense amount of support for children, which would be given up for some meaningless increase in income.
I wish we had some kind of system that forced people to go through certification to be able to have kids. Honestly 90% of our problems are caused by shitty parenting, other 10% random genetic flaws or accidents. If we could raise parenting to the level of a regular certified profession we'd have a fuckin utopia in 50 years or less. The most DESIRED occupation that women outside of the West have is being a pretty housewife. But since they have to eat they go to school for things like STEM.
Chances are I'm going to have a higher earning potential than my partner, so it would only make sense that I would be the one working, with them staying at home.
