Why is it allowed that this ridiculous "nerd culture" now goes on deep into supposed adulthood?
Is the whole generation going to shit because of videogames?

You'll notice that cult TV and movies are notably absent from pop "nerd culture" media. We'll get 20 Star Wars sequels because they've never failed to make money, but try asking for a good spiritual successor to stuff like Blade Runner and watch how fast everyone ceases to give a fuck.
Franchises that manage to survive have been so thoroughly altered to ensure continued mass appeal, they hardly resemble the originals at all. Star Trek movies are just tentpole action blockbusters now.

People like all those culture because they find that modern fiction targeted at adults often lacks a well-structured plot and is instead peppered with violence, gore or rape
>>24435785
Anyone who reads contemporary literary fiction would know that to be false.

Fuck off, SJW LIBKEK
>>24434505
Hitchhiker's Guide and Doctor Who are "nerd"? How?

Because pop culture has become nearly infinitely splintered among niche interests so that sci-fi, once the ugly stepchild of pop culture has become a monolith, thus the incessant targeting of it by Hollywood as one of the last surefire money making markets.
That's why every mediocre franchise is getting the reboot or sequel treatment. It's the last easy to milk cashcow, and every sneaky kike wants to suckle at the teat while they can

You do know they're currently making Blade Runner 2, right?
