I agree that the age of 30 is somewhat arbitrary, but it is the age most people settle down and have kids. For that reason, if you haven't had any romantic relationships by that age, chances are you won't have any at all.

35 years old and a wizard, reporting in.
For me, the desire hasn't waned in the slightest. I just get more frustrated and angry as the time goes on. I drink pretty heavily to dull some of the feelings of resentment and loneliness...the only time I'm sober is when I'm at work.
It's funny to think that ten years ago I was locked up by the Office of Mental Health for these feelings of resentment, of anger and sexual frustration. I went to get help because I didn't want to become a monster. They arrested me, drugged me, turned me into a zombie, and cut me loose after three days. And that was the closest I have ever come to getting help.
10 years have elapsed and I have the same feelings. But at least I have liquor. I may not live as humans live, but at least I haven't crossed some kind of line. At least I'm not a monster. And it's a sad, strange point of pride that the only one keeping me in check is myself.
