I'm so sick of playing video games. It's literally the only hobby whereby you waste hours on, and gain zero knowledge from.

What should I pick up now? I'm watching animes at the moment and honestly, I think it might be a waste of time too.

WHATS THE MOST PRODUCTIVE THING I CAN DO.

No, you can't.

OP, I'd pick up wood- and metalworking. Go and build yourself some guns and sell them for profit.

Then you're playing the wrong games.

Some games, like Planescape: Torment, and Thief 2, have literally made me a better writer by opening my mind to new metaphors/ideas.

Lifting and reading. I was in a similar position where I just couldn't play video games anymore and every anime I watched was boring as shit.

Get a proper hobby by going to the gym and start reading books about something that interests you. For me it was the human psychology and behavior. That way you not only do something good for your body, but also something good for your brain, instead of wasting countless hours playing useless videos games or watching retarded moe shit.

Try it out for a week and I swear you'll feel much better.
>>
>>24423924

I don't like reading.. I don't like the past, science is cool but I can't get too deep into it.

>>24423816
I want to try writing, but I'm not the best at English and I think it might just be a waste of effort entirely.

Hmm lifting is cool, but being a skinny faggot (I guess that shows how much of a joke I'm in at the army), going to the gym makes me self conscious.

This, find a local arts place that has classes and sign yourself up for one. I did this and it's relaxing as fuck to take a day off and spend the night sitting in a room with six or seven other people and draw/paint/whatever with them for a few hours. It's my escape from wageslaving and sad thoughts.

I'm terrible with talking to other people too and it's great because we all work in silence with instrumental music playing in the background and just spend the breaks talking about drawing.

anything in the Criterion Collection.

>It's literally the only hobby whereby you waste hours on, and gain zero knowledge from.
But you gain knowledge of the game itself that can marginally help you when playing other games. Some of the skills you pick up can be useful elsewhere, mainly reaction time and min/maxing which is really part of a game but I count it.
>>
>>24423992
Yo, I was a skellyfag until earlier this year when I manned up and enrolled in a cross fit class. I've got defined abs now, dude. Never thought I'd say that. All of my self conscious lolanxiety thoughts faded after the first session because I realized no body gave a single fuck about me. Everybody is there to workout. Something structured like that would definitely help you my man

Don't worry bro, gaining mass is pretty easy if you know what to eat. I started as a fat shit and lost about 30kg since I started. Don't worry about the people in the gym, literally nobody gives a fuck about you.

But it's a videogame where you gain plenty of real, useful knowledge on. It's halfway between a game and a simulation.
>>
>>24422848
You can make watching anime or playing games more productive as well. Watch/play in a language you want to learn.

Other than that, the reason you want to play videogames is because it's easy and you've got too much time on your hands. You need to change your routine. Instead of turning on your computer in the morning, go for a run. You need to replace the time you spend doing nothing with something more productive, that's all.

Productivity is entirely subjective

Wasting hours on a hobby to learn things you don't entirely care about to impress people you don't even know is arguably even more pointless than wasting the days away playing video games

In the end it doesn't really matter what you know, you'll still end up buried in the ground or burned to ashes

It's not that it's that great, it reignited an old thirst for knowledge that was buried alive in the dark times of my dumb life.

Reading. Get a big ass book and read that shit, The more you read the better at it you get. You will be training that part of your brain which you neglected for so long. You may find yourself able to focus on one task out of a time after getting more skilled at reading. Just the way your brain wires itself when you use the computer too much vs when you are an avid reader.
