You either have it or you don't. I've got a strong mustache, goatee, and sideburns game, but my cheeks are patchy and don't connect on either side. So I keep my mustache and goatee neatly trimmed, sideburns under control, and my cheeks cleanly shaven. I wish I could grow a full on beard, but I'd probably look silly with it anyway so it's not too big of a loss.
Also, facial hair is a compliment to your face, it won't make or break it unless you do dumbshit like let it get abusively out of control or pedostache it something.

Yes. Just ask your bearded older friends what age they started growing a beard. My coworker has a full lumberjack beard, it's absolutely glorious, and he told me he couldn't even get stubble right until his late 20s. Most men take a while to get a proper beard.

18 might not be old enough. Not everyone has those Mediterranean genetics. I'm 23 and from 18 to now, there was noticeably more growth. The other thing is that if it's patchy, you need to just let it grow so that the hair around it covers the patches. It takes months to grow a respectable beard tbqh family
