Psychology is just the study of behavior. The boring side of it tries to look at prosocial behaviors and shit, but that's kind of like thinking chemistry pretty much stops at what soda mixes with what spirit.
It case you're wondering though, bourbon in root beer or ginger ale. Rum in coke or ginger ale. Gin in seltzer or maybe 7up. Tequila in grapefruit soda, brandy and scotch in toilet water(implying they aren't fit for consumption and should be disposed of). Vodka is just kind of shitty and doesn't really pair or not pair with anything. It's useful in cooking though when you need just plain alcohol. Of course neutral is better than vodka every way. So vodka is stistishit at everything, even the only thing it's good at.
