Is fear of hell really the only we don't just get it over with?
>>
For some it is the path to liberation, for others it is not
>>
lmao no not at all
i know for a fact that nothing happens after we die
LITERALLY NOTHING
FOREVER
>>
Somehow our minds and bodies are in dissonance, one wanting us to throw ourselves off a cliff but the other jerking us away from the edge
>>
>>24418876
No. It's fairly obvious that Hell isn't real if you weren't raised in a religious household.

I can't die yet because Dark Souls 3 is coming out in March next year.
You need to be alive in order to experience disappointment.

Why should we go to hell for killing ourselves? Idk sounds kinda messed up. Some people just want out.

Why would I kill myself when the European race war is right around the corner
>>
>>24418876
Nope, it's hope that is keeping us going. That small, fucking glimmer of hope that things will get better

I used to be deathly afraid of hell even though my family practiced no religion, I got over it in my early 20s though and came to conclusion that everything written about hell (and afterlife) in religion is just man made BS to scare people into bein good boys
>>
>>24418876
How would you go on about it? I need ideas

Have you ever thought that there's a bigger earth?

An earth where we all came from, where everyone loves one another & shit like that?

It's an earth the size of the sun. Takes months just to get to the other side.

I imagine that...

fucking retarded normie christian
why don't you go out and live a normal life like the typical christian you are!
>>
>>24418876
For me it is. That is literally the only thing that keeps me from painting the walls with my brains. If anyone actually knew 100% that Hell wasn't real, I feel like people would kill themselves instantly. Nothingness and nonexistence is supremely preferable to this shit life. There are no other compelling rational reasons to go on living; there are only base biological urges to propagate the species. Incidentally, these base biological urges are the exact same reasons people will claim as reasons to continue living. For example, "because I love my daughter and she needs me." Other reasons are trite: "because I love life."

>we were spawned against our will once before
>no evidence to suggest this can only occur once, as most phenomena are repeatable
>this world is already literal hell for many
>you can be subjected to bad experiences against your will
>bad things exist, you have no control over being born
>therefore you can be born into a place where bad things happen and have no control over it

Makes sense to me
I don't think it's necessarily an act of divine retribution, but I don't see why it's impossible
Though I doubt the risk is as high as many religious people say it is
They're just being controlled by fear

Meanwhile, you're an idiot.
Religionfags can't be robots. Your lives are filled with sunshine and fairies.

The euphoric feel is one of the worst feels there is.
>>
>>24418876
Less hell and more of the unknown.
>>
>>24420999
I'm afraid of the unknown potentially being hell
If the unknown is anything other than hell, then it'd be pretty sweet
But this is obvious as hell is basically just a catch-all for anything bad
So the two fears are, in my experience of them, one and the same

What if it's not?
Who knows
What bothers me is the notion that it might be predicated upon your behavior in the here and now
Normally I would find comfort in whatever's there happening to me inevitably no matter how I try to escape, making fear pointless, but what if there actually IS an escape? Suddenly my fear becomes validated. But I would have no idea what such an escape would be. So I'm stuck in some kind of scary limbo.

I can't speak for the rest of us, but that's at least the case for me. I personally believe that death is a constant state of nothingness, and as long as the death is sudden or painless, there should be no part of it to fear. After all, before you kill yourself you are no worse off than you are right now, actually dieing could be as painless as you make it, and afterwards, if you really were to be in a state of nothingness, you would not be able to feel any pain, regret or sadness over the situation either.

However, for some reason I still remain terrified of dieing regardless and unable to pull the trigger. Maybe it's for the best and I someday in 30 years or so will be thanking my fear for forcing me to live out the hardest parts so that I could see a brighter tomorrow. That's at least what I like to think. It's easier to think of it as a blessing than a curse.

>>24418876
Hell is a problem. But if the existence continue and you'll feel all the suffering for your actions here, than you have to fear what you'll gonna do to yourself anyway.
