I think the key is to come to the point, the balance, where you have a sufficient amount of not giving a fuck to actually be able to move on/forward and accept the fact the world has fucked up properties, yet still have some shit to give to things that aren't fucked up etc.
Easier said than done though, and as others mentioned, knowing what "moving forward" would entail and such can be a whole issue on its own as well.
