I've thought about this a lot and I've made up my mind - I would be free.
the main priority would be to drive to nearest supermarket with my dad and take our gunz with us and take as much non-perishable food as we can fit in the car. realistically any viable apocalypse scenario today is going to bring with it a very cold semi-permanent winter. So for volcano or asteroid apocalypse, gather as much cold weather gear as possible, if nuclear apocalypse, put everything in the middle room of the house and make sure we stay there for a few weeks. After that, try to learn to live off the land. Water wouldn't be an issue as we can boil snow (filter it through dirt if it's irradiated), the main problem would be acquiring food after the non-perishables run out.
realistcally (assuming a volcanic, impact, or nuclear winter), the average person would die in the first few weeks from the cold or more likely starvation, and I think long term survival would depend very much on how many resources you gather in the first few days (especially cold weather gear), or even better if you were a tin foil hat prepper with a basement with 10 years worth of canned sardines in it

I'd start building proper shelter out of the ruins, assuming there are ruins. I'd then try to rally people under christianity ala warhammer esque type fervor for the sake of boosting morale. From there establish a kind of senatorial government in which everyone has a vote, however the common thread we all have is religion. I work construction so with help I could probably build some good houses and defenses.
The first people I'd look for though would be engineers and mechanics for their invaluable skills. Then people to farm, then, maybe I'd let enough women into keep population up.

I'm pretty sure you just need lots of wires which you can probably make out of rocks, and then electricity, which I guess you just make by burning lots of wood and shit. And then you just need boxes with surfaces that change shapes and color depending on how much electricity hits them. I'm a little less sure how to work out the details on that part, but I'm thinking you could use paint and just keep the surface of the boxes really hot so the paint never dries.

If I was in charge of reconstruction during a nuclear war, my first act would be to confiscate all anti-anxiety medication before the bombs fell and then distribute them to the public after the war.
