Shooting yourself is way too risky though and if you fuck it up then you're going to end up even worse and even if you'd want too you wouldn't be able to try again.

Honestly I think I read this in a /b/ thread or maybe here last winter.
Anyway the way I plan to go is to grab a bottle of Crown and a bottle of 151 and a few cans of Coke.
Drive up into the mountains listening to songs that remind me of my ex. Idle with the heat on.
Take shots while writing my suicide note, switching to 151 after being reasonably buzzed to speed up the process.
As I get more drunk, turn the heat off and take off most of my clothes. Maybe be wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
Finish up my note, do one last shot, go outside and find a nice snowy bank to lay down in. The alcohol with do a 2 for 1 in dulling my senses and making it so I can handle the cold, while pretty much guaranteeing I pass out soon.
Slowly fall and peacefully asleep and don't wake up.

It's the best and the worst method. For example, taking a lot of aspirin versus a fatal dose of nembutal are very very different things.
My preferred method is to order enough fentanyl to take around 10mg (way over the ld50), which should let me lose consciousness or get high as fuck when I eventually die. I slaughter cattle, pigs and other animals occasionally, it's fairly easy to cut but a very very sharp knife of some length is definitely a help, just stick in right next to your throat and twitch the tip away from it. It's going to be very very painful though. On domestic cattle one sedates them with a bolt or bullet first.
