I honestly never had a Nu-Metal phase. My Metal phase was full of bands like King Diamond and Bathory. I loved German Speed Metal groups like Running Wild and Blind Guardian also.
Listening with fresh ears, a lot of Nu Metal is pretty redeemable if you're listening for the fun of it. Edgy fuckwits who live on Nuclear War Now and shun anything that isn't DSP-tier piss me off. It's Metal, if you take it even remotely seriously then you're a fucking idiot.
