Evolution is correct but does not conflict with religion
Global warming has been a major concern since ~1980 and nobody cared until the early/mid 00's when companies learned to sell environmental awareness. Because of how annoying environmentalists are and the fact that most people didn't realize or care what was going on until it became a marketing tool, conservatives are reluctant to believe global warming is real but that doesn't mean it isn't.

That's true and partially why I am not Christian (if something is clearly wrong it was just a metaphor all along, i.e., they have an excuse for everything) but evolution, the big bang, etc don't conflict with the idea of a supreme being if one supposes that said supreme being caused the big bang or designed evolution.
My point is that evolution is not a religion because science and religion are not mutually exclusive. Most Muslims believe some passages in the Quran describe the big bang for example and although I don't know Arabic yet, from the translations of said passages I've read it seems as if they're interpreting it liberally so as to give their religion validity and stems from the word firmament referring to both heaven and celestial bodies (something which occurs in translations of the Bible as well).
Science and belief in scientific theories is not a religion, but you would be correct in saying that atheism is. Disbelief in god is equivalent to belief that there is no god and is still a system of belief and faith, therefore atheism is a religion.
