Wine was definitely alcoholic back then. It's actually the defining feature of wine. Alcohol is a preservative. They might not be able to get as high of an ABV as say new world wines, but I'm quite positive it was at least on the same abv general area as the shitty wine regions like france and germany.

I have, I prefer drinking but it was fun. In my experience it just amplified everything around me, delayed my reaction time to comical amounts and made me more introspective, talkative and detail oriented. But everyone's different. The cops came to the house as well. I wasn't paranoid, I just put on my cool face and prepared to not look fucked up(they never entered)
