What are you guys doing to improve yourselves and the world? Let's leave the depression and self-pity out of this thread.

I made the infographic here with some basic self-improvement action ideas, if you have any others please post em.

I am on tier three myself, looking forward to starting college soon for computer science. We're all going to make it, robots.

I'm doing all the shit in OP except for volunteering because I don't have time for useless activities and I hate everyone.

I feel no better. Actually I feel worse. I"ve always been a dandy with hygeine and fitness, but getting a job and socializing have been the worst things I"ve ever done. I still do it for some reason. I"m hoping it's an acquired taste but I don't see how anyone likes socializing. It's all so fucking randoms. Normies change the rules like they exchange body fluids and stds.

I'm better than everyone else, and that's good enough for me. I don't need self improvement per se, I just want to be happier. I often think some people just weren't meant to be happy. Kind of like some people are cursed with atheism, some people just have a congenital mild anhedonia. I mean I like fapping and sometimes I can get into my little projects like writing, designing shit, or animu, but its not often, and always over as fast as it started.
>>
>>24368005

Been working on losing weight. I'm about a month into a diet and exercise regimen. Haven't had time to workout all that much in the past week or so due to exams/papers to write, but I feel like I'm doing well. I don't weigh myself because the scale freaks me out, but I know my caloric deficit is in order and my pants feel slightly looser, though that might just be a placebo effect.

It's actually not THAT hard to diet if you count calories properly. I used to think dieting was "eat nothing but chicken breasts and rabbit food", but I've actually been able to go out for fast food every one in awhile. I just skip the soda and get a small fry instead of a large one with my burger.

Yeah man, there are no happy people in the world that weren't born with 10/10 genetics, and there are no unhappy incredibly smart or attractive people, at all. Like how Jim Morrison, an incredibly talented man considered to be a sex symbol of his time, lived to a ripe old age with his wife and kids, right?
If you don't want to improve yourself, just say that, don't try to blame some shit out of your control, might as well say it's patriarchies fault if you're going to do that.
>>
>>24365344
>No it doesn't

So, you've never actually lifted? Setting a new PR or breaking through a plateau is incredibly satisfying.

Also, you're kind of a hypocrite man, telling people not to generalise and then saying that lifting is done primarily for women. Your teenage buddies might do some stupid bro-split for women, but people who actually seriously lift tend to do it more because they enjoy it.

>being outside of one's comfort zone.

That's exactly what's stopping me from travelling.
I signed up for student exchange few months before leaving, but few days before, I got depressed about leaving my comfort zone. Still, I had to do it.

Now everyone here is socialising, making friends, travelling together, and I'm staying in the dorm for the weekend because no money (eastern europe -> korea, the difference in any given price is often 2-3x, and I wasn't exactly rich in my home country), no ability to have friends, no reason to travel, so just living with an annoying as fuck roommate just draining my life force...

I will probably regret my decisions further in life. Because then everything will seem easy. "Oh, should've just left one day, hitchhike and eat grass for a week".

Thankfully, none of it will matter after I die.

Gotta find something that satisfies you man, not what society says is satisfying. These lists are just a guide as to what to do to get to where you're able to function well enough to find out what does make you happy. Once you've done this stuff, you've gotta specialise, find your niche, and just try to be social with those things (any hobby has the potential to be social, anime isn't a hobby), that's the only way to truly be happy.

Fuck that noise and simultaneously fuck you for thinking that this advice is useless. The reason that ">be yourself" is the go to is because it works. Unless your interests are mutilated babies or unit 7japanfuckedup, nobody actually cares and what your shut-in status means is that you've just shut everyone else out. Most people WELCOME oddities and quirks. Most people want the person they spend time with to be a little different. Most people don't care how big your cock is, how many times you've had sex, or if you hate the blacks or not. Most people just want you to want them. If you're a beta then good news! Chad left them and only your pride keeps you from having your irl waifu. Only your personal hang ups keep you from enjoying life. Stop being giant h8fun faggots and just go live. >Mommy's guide to life

The only thing more pathetic than you sperging out is trying to fit into the normie life style
This isn't a "self-improvement" chart, it's a "steps to becoming a normie chart"

so you can't focus, bad memory? meditation is known to help for that

move out, move far away

you can start meditation right now
can you find a job quicker than that?

I've tried meditation. I spent like a month every night before bed trying to meditate, but it didn't do much. I was reading up on various methods and trying them. I don't remember the names but it wasn't just going in without knowing what I was supposed to do.

it takes time for your brain to change though.. neuroplasticity is slow. if you get too focused on seeing quick results, you get demotivated fast (this is true for any activity basically)

some people are lucky and have good first experiences with meditation and keep doing it, others don't notice much at first. I don't know, because I'm no expert, but I think making meditation a daily habit will deliver positive results in the long run, since it is basically training your prefrontal cortex to have more control over the rest of your brain.

I've started and failed so many self improvement initiatives. I don't know how to succeed. Is it possible that I'm simply not capable of doing better?

stop taking on too much at one time

just focus on one thing, like showering once a day. Once you've been doing that long enough for it to become a habit, move on to something new.

I wonder if cyborgs like myself could help coach, offer councel and give support to robots to help them get up and get out.

Honestly from what I've experienced what girls what from a man are confidence and goal-orientation. They don't just latch onto successful or attractive people for relationships. They look for guys who are doing things and feeling good excited about it.

Anyway I wonder if forming a friendship with someone here to help them out into the world would be beneficial to both parties. Getting to know someone, having conversation and having something to look forward to could foster those attributes to occur more prevelantly in future social settings. Then maybe I'd find may way up and out and the robot could lvl up to cyborg and sponsor his own robot.

Train up, send out?

The only time I ever got qt gf was right after I came back from 2 months on my own traveling. I had confidence out the ass from surviving alone in a foreign country. However, I quickly fell into old routines and lost her.

If the thread was actually helpful more people will be interested.
The previous self-improvement threads could be described as a circlejerk where everyone is patting each other's backs

Might be useful if there were names for different kinds of robots. We have clinically depressed, people with severe social anxiety, people who lack self respect, people without any empathy or trust, professional procrastinators, alcoholics, etc etc

The path to self improvement/self-acceptance depends on who you are and what's important to you.

Maybe add reading books, meaningful me-time (not for the sake of building a skill, but exploring a hobby you care about). Also whatever activity gets put on the guide needs to be motivated. Why meditate, journal, excise, etc? For self improvement? That's too vague. You won't stick with something unless you know what it's for.

What book changed you?
