I can't help but think of furry meetups as failed sports mascots conventions.

Never been a furry, but I used to be a furry fan, as in fan of the furry fandom. I used to browse furry websites and read up on old furry culture online and watch videos from furry conventions, because I was a genuine fan of the fandom.
