I think glasses are hit or miss. It depends on the person. Some look good with specs and some don't, and this can also vary depending on whether the frame they pick flatters them or not. I look less feminine with most frames I've tried, so I stick with contacts.

I've found either thin wire glasses, those big aviator looking ones that you can hook shades onto, or just thick black plastic ones look the best. If you're a neet or just poor you'll probably take what you can get.
