Recovering drug addict here. Got 2.5 years clean from opiates with NA. People bitch that it doesn't work but I've never seen anyone relapse who's actually working the steps and attending meetings regularly. You don't have to believe in God either, I don't. The only promise we make in NA is freedom and thats exactly what i have. I would recommend it OP and feel free to ask me any questions.

it's not any worse than any other amphetamine or junk or iv coke or crack. It was just hyped into some sort of demon in the early '00s because use skyrocketed. I've known a good number of functional addicts, self medicators and two narcoleptics that used meth without ever ruining their lives. Unlike amphetamine, however, it is quite neurotoxic so long term use can cause more behavioral issues.

Thats some interesting perspective I'm just saying I love it and I do believe I've found freedom. Freedom as in through the steps I've been able to do the things that drugs didn't allow me to do. Things like make true meaningful friendships, become engaged to a beautiful woman, go back to school, get a job, have nice things that I don't need to sell for a fix, have a savings account, and more. They also dont make us afraid to relapse to keep coming to meetings, i keep going because I can help others and if I'm having a hard day I can get help myself. I understand that it's not for everyone but for me I love it and I'm so happy to have found it
