I first heard about this song when I was around 15 years old and had no friends and wanted badly to move to the USA and spent a lot of my free time searchign youtube for viddeos like "hanging out at the mall" and I saw one video with cute girls my age dancing and running around to a dance remix of Offspring's "Self-Esteem" and I messaged her on youtube telling her she looks like Summer from School of Rock and she said thanks and I messaged back telling her to ask her friends if they agreed but she never replied even though I sent another message soon after asking whether they agreed.

There's been this trance song that I've been remembering now and then throughout the years but I could never find it because it never really had any lyrics, it was akin to this song:

Where a woman is just singing but with no real words, maybe a song comes to your mind that might be similar to this that you can share?

>The first Spongebob movie came out 11 years ago
>The current generation of teenagers, and all ones after them, will never remember a time before social networking, smartphones, social justice, the modern Internet, 9/11, mass surveillance, or widespread shitty memes

I wish I had died at the end of August 2001. 1998-2001 was the high point of my life, and the end of that summer marked the end of an era. Everything after that has been a slow decline to the Hell that we're in now.
>>

The remixed version is how I know about it. It was one of the songs that a girl named "special k" on youtube (with around 80 views per video) danced to in a "drugged-out" seeming way and who I communicated with over twitter a bunch of times and I found out she has a young child and doesn't have a job and spends her free time doing drugs and trying to sleep with vaguely famous males in the music scene in her region of California.
>>

this marked the point I knew there was something wrong with my attraction to girls, because this dance/song didn't turn me on like it did to my father and cousin

Len was amazing during the summer holidays. Waking up with your curtains still open and a breeze coming in and your mom ironing out the back garden.

It sucks that I fucked my life up so soon, summer's became so lonely too soon. I used to walk around my house too afraid to go outside nad staring at myself wide-eyed in the mirrors while tugging at my hair. Sometimes I would cycle to a friend's house and ask their parents if they wanted to come out to play but they'd usually be at another friend's house. It sucked especially at night when you could hear the local kids walking by outside to or from a party and unable to sleep at 2am because I woke late and did nothing all day.

If you brought down an Alien who knew nothing of earth, and had it watch the top ten shows of the 90s and the top ten shows of the 2000s, the alien would assume they took place fifty years apart, and the 2000s had fewer channels to pick from and less of a budget.

Goddamn, Sugar Ray. I remember playing in my backyard on a sunny summer morning in 1997 while "Fly" played on the radio I had with me. Good times, much better than now.
I also read up on Scatman John not too long ago, and found that he died in 1999. I'm kind of jealous, that seems like a good year to die in. Better to die then, when things were relatively good, than to see what the world would turn into.
Same with Mr. Rogers, he died in 2003, he was also too good for this world.
I just wish the same had happened with me.
