Had one, then my cousin gave me a slightly better Radeon 3650. Now I have a GeForce 8800GT and I hate it since it's loud as fuck and I don't even play games any more.
Who /modest computer specs but still appreciates it greatly/ her?
I remember when it came out. I used to have the best possible PC you could have back in the day. I remember everyone praised GeForce 8600 GT. After a few months I was considered a pleb again. Was a good time, though.

I used to have a 9800GT. It was a good card, you know, for non-demanding games. Great for all the old are mostly 2d shit.
Unfortunately I upgraded my GPU before my CPU, and I was more bottlenecked by my CPU.
These days I'm running a 7870 and i3 2100. It's good enough to do majority of my shit on 2560x1440, but the cpu is showing it's age in a bunch of games.

Nigger you could run AAAAA games at 640x480 and there'd be frame stuttering, texture fuck-ups, all sorts of garbage all the time. It plays TF2 just fine (though there's some stuttering when it's dynamically loading shit), Binding of Isaac, Postal 2 A Week in Paradise, any of the trash games I start-up. Don't buy shitty games and your games will run well.

They've been working great for most people, you just got a lemon and should have returned it. That said, there are better AMD cards out that are cheaper, though optimization for AMD is still poorly done with a few key AAA titles. That should be going away in the next year as the companies that partnered with AMD is growing and DX12 should be better on them (because asynch compute is limited by the hardware on current gen nVidia cards and AMDs older cards even support it).

It was such a good GPU. Good, but huge as well.This thread got me in the feels. I miss that GPU and when I used it, that was my peak of playing vidya. Hardly play anymore. It's a sad feel.
I have a Radeon HD 5760 from my old build just gathering dust until I can get some storage, a new PSU and a full atx HTPC case. Then it'll be in a streaming media server and hopefully it is supported for gpu acceleration.
