I live in my moms basement and lift there. All you need is a 100kg Olympic barbell set, squat stand, and a bench. Then you can do Starting Strength until you become confident enough to go to the gym.

You're gonna need to change your diet though. I'm assuming you're fat right now because you eat like shit. You aren't going to get muscular eating garbage food all day. You need nutrients. Vegetables, good carbs, and chicken.

If you're fat and just starting working out, you don't need a gym, I'd argue that nobody except professional atheletes or bodybuilding faggots needs a gym. Your first year should be spent doing basic bodyweight exercising and practicing jog/sprint routines to lose that disgusting fat and build up stamina. Then you might wanna get 100-200$ worth of equipment - some dumbbells (get at least 2-3 different pairs, changing weights will drive you insane), pull-up bar, maybe a bench, some tight ropes, and you're set.
