here's a poem i wrote for my girlfriend, planning it on sending her tonight so let me know if i should change anything:

I am hers, and she is mine.
Every time I look into her in the eye,
Lo and behold I see a woman, not a guy.
I am hers, and she is mine.
I am the luckiest man in the entire world
My sweetheart is one very beautiful girl.
I am hers, and she is mine.
I know I am a straight man, even though people call me gay
Not so, she was always a woman, from the very first day.
I am hers, and she is mine.
Anyone who has a problem with our love can pound sand,
This woman completes me, I love it when I take her hand.
I am hers, and she is mine.
Every day I am thankful for our relationship and love
The woman of my life is as pure and graceful as a dove
I am hers, and she is mine.
Running through my mind nonstop is my beautiful girlfriend when we are apart,
And when we are together she knows how to excite my heart.
I am hers, and she is mine.
Not one ounce of a male do I see in her from head to toe.
She is 110% female, and if you disagree, you will become my foe.

For she is as beautiful, in my eyes, as any supermodel
And my favorite thing to do with her, is watch a movie and cuddle.

Gone are the days where she had to worry if she will ever find a mate

I always have to laugh
or else id always cry
people think im happy
believe my biggest lie
i don't feel much at all inside
sometimes i want to die
so ill just make some jokes
and watch as time goes by

The Coldest Hour

I sit at my desk, writing your letter
Write for the best, write for the better
Pretend I'm still king, clutching the throne
But I'm just the fool, who laughs all alone
I tell you my stories of conquests and crossed blades
But I have not left this castle, I have fared no crusades

I sit here and play this dispiriting game
Rituals with no purpose, the outcomes the same
A weighted distraction; blackjack or poker,
But the hand I've been dealt is made up of Jokers
A loser's remorse, felt the first move
A loser I am, with nothing to lose.

I remember the nights where we would stay up
Until the stars would fall down and the sun would fall up
A peculiar hour that we had both shared
A time we forgot out worries and the fears that we bared.
The warmth of your smile for which was all that I plead
Inexplicably leading to the soft secrets we bled.

All of the memories, as fresh as before
Near too many to count, yet still I managed to score
Tallied each laugh, marked up each tear
Wrote down each "I love you" whispered into our ears

But the hour is cold now, and those days are past.
There's futility in trying to make that dream last.
Yet still I do try, I clutch and I hold
To find something for us, as we both grow old
With nothing to find and time running out
I dig into my chest, and rip my heart out.

The hour gets colder, as does my skin
I let out a sigh, on my face grows a grin
A somber acceptance of my sorrowful fate
The cure I have needed, arriving fashionably late.
It's now time to rest, I've taken my fall.
I've given my best, I gave it my all.

As my eyelids grow heavy, and my sight fades to black,
I dream of the hour, and I'm taken aback
I dream of the warmth that is now far away
With the cold seeping in, without any delay.

I lay on my floor, having written your letter.
Wrote for the best, wrote for the better.
