It should be easy for you since german and english are both germanic languages.

German is a really logical language and pretty simple if you know English, at least in terms of basic prose. Try Googling for Sandberg's German for Reading. Do like 10 chapters and you'll be able to understand half of these threads.
I barely know anything and I can still translate like 50% and get the other 50% by context and English cognates.
Morgen wieder Berufsschule mit Kostenrechnung und Buchungssatzen, das macht Laune. Hoffentlich stellt sich die hubsche Asiatin neben mir so blod an wie immer und setzt diesen Blick auf den nur bse Kuhe besser drauf haben. It's an intensive reading-only course for grad students who need to pass reading comprehension exams quickly. It doesn't waste time teaching you how to ask where the mall is, or 650 different words for fruit so you can visit Germany next summer and go shopping. As a german I can totally say it is way easier the other way around. Speaking german first and then learning english is like forgetting half of the unused stupid grammatical craprules and writing most things lowercase. Like a dream comes true or something. Besides that english really is a nice language.
