can someone tell me the appeal of fallout 4? i played fallout 3 as well as either fallout 1 or 2 (i don't quite remember which one) and i didn't like either of them. only one i found fun was fallout tactics.

Its still the closest thing to a fully realized post apocalyptic world there is.
Discovering locations for the first time is as interesting as ever basically.
Levelling and collecting weapons is also great - less so in fallout 4 because every character ends up similar as the stealth play-through is no longer viable, gunfights are mandatory)

Fallout 4 is definitely worth a play through. People on the internet are just bad because it isn't worth the 4 play throughs that new vegas was. There are some mods that are worth getting already. They seem like cheats but you'll find they fit better with the new game style bethesda have turned fallout 4 into.

This is so you can wear a nice qt dress and still wear your armor pieces, or so you can play dress ups with piper. It makes more sense, is more realism, is more immersion.

Survival has good features like more legendary enemies (for gear) and slower healing but it also turns enemies into bullet sponges and fights will be a tedious mess of quicksaves. Get the mod to remove the 1/2 damage penalty.
