Everyone in my family always got so upset at me not wanting to celebrate my birthday. They didn't care about me being uncomfortable with it or finding it retarded, they just wanted to do it because "that's just what people do." Well good thing I'm not people then. I'm me. And I don't fucking want to celebrate managing to not kill myself every year.

Nothing, I had classes that day and the people I hang with aren't proactive enough to do something like surprise me with something (Fuckheads suggested I treat them for some Ice Cream and Pizza instead, of course I bailed). Though I went to a comic convention the day after with a friend of mine so that was fun (Does that count?).

Went to a mates place with the boys and got drunk, can't remember if I was high or not it was a while back. Tried to vault over a high fence and sprained my ankle badly. I asked my crush at the time out for coffee and got shut down as she was already in a complicated relationship.
My birthday was back in January. I got drunk as shit at home and woke up in my garden with cuts all over my body - I assume from the brambles in my garden.
This January coming, I'll probably do exactly the same.

What's a birthday?
I'm in grad school and barely know anyone. I spent it by staying up all night the night before, taking a test, going to class all day long, then falling asleep as soon as I got home. A lot of my classmates said happy birthday to me throughout the day, which I appreciated but thought was really odd because they wouldn't have known unless they checked Facebook that closely. Even then I'm not friends with most of them on Facebook.
Got home, one of my roommates, a girl who is a year ahead of me in the same grad program, mentioned in passing that she told some of my classmates in the school building's lounge to wish me a happy birthday today. She's a very loud outgoing person and she meant well by it, but fuck. Why the fuck would she do that. I clearly don't know anyone in my program and I have no friends. What she did just highlights this fact and makes it so awkward. I'd much rather nobody know it was my birthday, I don't want attention, especially forced fake attention.

Then after they left I ordered several more books with the gift card.

It was last month. 28. Me and a "friend" have a birthday on the same day. I live in a gigantic loft apartment in Manhattan (I'm a fuck up, don't worry, I inherited it from my dead parents) so he suggested we have a joint birthday party together. I said OK because I have no friends. He invited 250 people and CHARGED ADMISSION at $15 per person without my knowledge or agreement. Noise complaints from neighbors, 12 cops showed up and raided the place 2 hours in. I got charged with selling alcohol without a liquor license (nice legal loophole: the building I live in used to be a warehouse but is now apartments but is still an "industrial" building according to the city even though nothing's been manufactured here in 50 years so they don't consider it a house party) and for employing an unlicensed bouncer (the dude collecting money for my "friend" ran the second the cops showed up.) I'm facing a $10,000 fine and haven't heard from or been able to find said "friend" since. Called his family, girlfriend, no leads. I'm a beta piece of shit because I'm probably just gonna suck it up and take the fine. Too unmotivated to do anything about it expect bitch on the Internet. Any NYC lawyers wanna represent me?

You have no idea how tightly this city regulates alcohol sales. Highly successful bars in my neighborhood have had to shut down because they couldn't afford to pay the fines for small shit like serving drinks to minors on isolated occasions. Or failing to card a few times.
Hopefully I won't be alive for my next birthday.
