Is 27 years old too late to start college?
>>
no i'm pretty sure they're happy to take your money no matter how old you are
>>
It sucks getting my degree so late, but I can't do retail in my fucking forties and fifties, which may not even be around by then, and I don't have the back for labor.
>>
why would i hire a 32 year old with no experience when i can hire a 22 year old with no experience
>>
>>24134377

Yeah, a lot of white collar might not be around then either. But you at least have a better chance because higher-ups in a company have the power to decide to not have robots replace them, whereas labor has no power to stop it.
>>
>>24134393

Because 22 year olds are fickle shits that are dumb as all hell? General maturity is a bonus.
>>
>>24134393
the 32 year old has more experience & wisdom in life than the 22 year old...
>>
>>24134422
You're right, I kind of expect to be dead or living on robot taxes by then even with a degree, but half my motivation to get one is so I don't have to feel like a dumbass. It's humiliating working retail.
>>
>>24134439
Beat me to it. Most 22 y/os are insufferable. I don't mind helping someone get up to speed on shit but nobody wants to be a god damn babysitter
>>
Make sure you do some research beforehand. What kind of jobs are available, how easy it is to get employment, what they pay, and whether you think you could do that sort of work in the first place. Don't waste 3+ years of your life and get into debt only to find out that you don't like working in that area and that it doesn't pay well anyway.
>>
>>24134443
if the 32 year old has done nothing with his life at that age he pretty much is a manchild and a failure as a human being kek
>>
>>24134443
>>24134439

more experience in eating cheetos and living in their mothers basement? i know all u faglords who didnt go straight to college after highschool are complete fucking losers dont give me this bullshit saying your more le mature

>>
>>24134231

Not at all OP, go for it. At Least you'll be getting an education which most of the population don't have.
>>
>>24134580
You're probably right. I went to college out of hs and have 6 yrs in industry, just venting frustration with children. Ideal older candidate would be out of trades, military, or other career change
>>
>>24134608
an employer for what, a gay male strip club?
>>
>>24134608
>>24134608

>>
>>24134231
there is no such age required for having education.
we have 65 a year old student in my school back then
>>
No but you'll have to stand being around 18 year olds, who are of course insufferable shits.
>>
>>24134231
Obama was 27 when he started at Harvard
>>
>>24134664
obama is also a nigger
>>
>>24134671

Who became president.
>>
>>24134660

A shitty meme president.

colleges seem to be full of social justice warriors and radfems these days.

If a nigger could become president, then there are no limits.

your president is a nigger

LMAO

Learn to have charisma on the level of Barack Hussein Obama and your horrible garbage life will surely be reformed
>>
>>24134664
But before that he was probably spending his time productively rather than just masturbating and shitposting on a Zulu dog board for the last 12 years
>>
>>24134723
i did computer science at college, and even though that was 7-8 years ago the progressives still managed to infect a bunch of my first-year courses.

things honestly seem even worse now. back then it was all about diversity and equality, now it seems to be about "privilege" and social justice.
>>
>>24134832
>snorting cocaine in gay orgy saunas and marrying a tranny
>productive

Actually I guess that's more productive than what I do.
>>
>>24134788
Obama lucked out on the genetics part. He's highly intelligent.
>>
>>24134231

No, but whether it is a good choice or not depends on many things.

Calculate the return on investment for the college degree. Compare it to other options: trade school, staying where you are, starting a business, etc. Also make sure to compare multiple different degrees.
>>
>>24134231
No. If you wait more however, it will be.
Make your plans, make sure to start within a year max.
After hitting 30 it starts getting too late.
>>
>>24134580
>implying you'll ever be in a position of authority over me

keep dreaming, faggot
>>
>>24134836

How so? I haven't noticed anything like this in my first year.
>>
>>24134231
No, but think seriously about whether it's a good idea.

Will the degree you've chosen actually get you a well paying job. [ or whatever your goal is ]

And don't listen to the bullshit artists marketing the degrees. Find out from people who've actually done said degree.

As a "mature student", you'll probably be treated better too, and can get away more easily without interacting with other students if you are an autist.

i don't know, like i said i haven't been on a campus for 8 years now

but i'm hearing things like lauren southern getting kicked out of her woman's group just for disagreeing with people on feminist issues. but i'm seeing stupid college campus shit like pic related pop up on the internet. i'm seeing Bahar Mustafa banning white men from the student unions and tweeting #KillAllWhiteMen and being cheered and celebrated for it.

in general i'm seeing the rise of neo-progressivism and identity politics, and seems to be coming from modern college campuses. are you really not seeing anything like this?

this certainly wasn't happening when i went through university.

>and can get away more easily without interacting with other students if you are an autist

Nope, interaction is mandatory for group assignments. Also teachers will be more alarmed that you're so awkward at such a mature age.
>>
>>24135976

Well I'm actually still in my first year and don't see this kind of thing first hand, I think STEM subjects are more immune. Then again I'm not American so that probably helps a bit.
>>
>>24135991
>Nope, interaction is mandatory for group assignments
There will be less pressure to socialise and make small talk. My experience of mature students, they sat at the front by themselves in lectures and were focussed entirely on learning. And were given a wide berth and respected by regular students.

also as a regular student I barely said a word in any group assignment except a stuttering reply if spoken to and no teachers were "alarmed".

>This was comp sci at a shitty university, though. I guess more normie courses may be different.
>>
>>24135991
>Also teachers will be more alarmed that you're so awkward at such a mature age.

I admitted to a teacher that I was 24 (outside of class) and she started calling on me at least once per class. Cunt.
>>
>>24134231
Depends on which talents you got, and which degree you'd want to pursue.

This video is all you need to see. CollegeHumor has been taken over by SJW. I don't know what happened but they suddenly have an agenda now.

maybe she likes you Anon.

She thinks you're a man she can rely on.
>>
>>24135991
This is stupid. Why would any instructor not expect you to feel a bit out of place amongst people nearly a decade of pop culture removed from you? Any sensible adult would be noticeably awkward around college students, especially with the bullshit that flies around campuses nowadays.

what the fuck did i just watch

that was neither funny nor informative
