I took a few Japanese classes in high school because the guidance counselor said it was easy. It's been a few years since, but I can understand day-to-day conversations. Anything beyond high-school level and I'm lost.
I've taken classes on Spanish and Italian, but neither seem particularly interesting.
I can speak English. I can read ancient Greek and Latin. Both from schooling.
i'm trying to learn french and pirated tellmemore, done a few lessons
may pirate rosetta stone too, and download a few youtube videos
I doubt these will make me fluent in any reasonable amount of time but I think it's a much better way to spend my time than on this site or playing vidya

I can read latin, and to some extent write it, albeit slowly.
I would like to learn German or French; not sure which. I am somewhat interested in the esoteric catholic stuff from France, but I am know more German lit/philosophy. Both countries seem to be kucking themselves out of existence at the moment though.

I messed around a bit on duolingo and it's mostly just "translate X, what does Y mean?" sort of exercises
Same goes for tellmemore, just translating basic french words you learn in elementary school

English is my first language. Learned German in school. Although I don't remember a lot of it, I can understand basic day-to-day conversations and suchlike.
That also inspired me recently to try learning Dutch on Duolingo, since it's pretty close to both German and English. It's going fairly well.
Since I'm a massive weeb I've also taken interest in Japanese. I took a few lessons in it recently but had to stop for certain reasons. I would like to learn it properly though at some point in the future. I have zero motivation though, so I don't know if that's going to happen.
