What did robots do before the internet? Were they just public outcasts that nobody talked to? That must have been the worst experience of life ever.
>>
>>24118681
internet is overrated I only use the internet 30 minutes a day total
>>
The internet created robots you fucking dunce. You're an Internet bred phenomenon of innocuous man children
>>
>>24118914
>there weren't socially inept retards in society before the Internet
Seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, is that supposed to be funny or are you trying to get up votes or something ?
>>
We live in a different world now
Society was different it was easier to be an outcast (or pretend not to be one)

How can you pretend not to be one?

me too, sometimes 40 minutes on weekend but its rare
>>
>>24119837
I tell people fake stories about fake people leaving in places they don't know
I tell them stories about parties that never took place with people that don't exist
I tell people I have a job even tho I never worked (aside from summer jobs)
I am pretty good liar in general
consistency is the key
>>
>>24119570
he's right though a common robot couldn't really exist until the 80's. the biggest factors to robothood like being raised by a single mom, lack of a job, and complete social exclusion weren't really a thing until then. you could literally get a job just by dressing nice and having a firm handshake, single mothers didn't really exist and even complete outcasts could still join something like the boy scouts or something
>>

/WebOfLies/ here too.
This guy speaks the truth

You use to just be able to go down the river some and find a new place to fit in.
Then it was across the empire/nation.
Then it was to other empires/nations.
You could go out west, you could go south, you could go north, hell you could even go east.
You could go anywhere and start life a new.

None with the inter connectivity of everything, you can't really do that. You can't move to a new state/providence and start a new life, the old one will have to carry over. Nobody hires someone with no proper documents.
You can hardly even move to a new county and do that, maybe be able to do it in some shitty third world nation, but you can't move out to somewhere half way civilized without your old life following you.

I wish I lived in a time where I could just go down to the town over and become a completely new person with no one being the wiser or even being able to become wise to who you were before.

40 yr old reporting in

The robots i knew generally did D and D, and/or did drugs at home.

It's quite easy to waste the years away just staying in bed and ignoring friendship offers, whilst rearranging your piss jugs.
>>
>>24118681
tabletop
vidya
card games
watching porn

pretty much the same
yet avoiding social interactions was a bit easier I think

I can use the internet for a whole hour if I have enough good boy points!

Dungeons & Dragons (and other pen & paper RPGs)
Nintendo games
Model making
Pre-internet BBS systems

Honestly pre-internet Robots were probably more social since they would stick together.

shit I forgot it was actually a thing

Check out Notes From Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Its a first person account of being a robot in 1860's Russia.

If you don't mind reading off a screen it's on Gutenberg for free.

My dad was an autistic basement dweller,
He raised snakes and bred rats to feed the snakes, also amassed a large comic book collection.
Eventually he fell for a highschool junior when he was 27, courted her, fucked her, married her, and made us.
He hates us so much, he hates having a family and staying at his shitty job so much.
Poor angry bastard will probably die still working his ass off, full of hatred.

All he wanted was to enjoy his science facts and to fuck jail b8.

you can still join the boy scouts or something. And robothood as you call it has nothing to do with having a single mom or not.

The robot literalley exist since the beginning of the human spicies, Robot=the lesser male, the weaker male. the male who can't reproduce due to his weaker genes.

the only reason why we call it robot and acknowladge it, is because the lesser male's can finaly talk to each otter and share information (feels) via the internet.

I remember watching a lot more TV than i did now.

Good ol 90s Nick and Cartoon Network.

Its really a stark contrast from now, i dont even have a cable subscription. I dont really care about all the normie shows on TV.

Ive PC gamed all my life though, Simulators mostly, but even PC is invaded by normies pandering for indy pixel shit.
>>
>>24120852

Isn't that all any of us really want? But we have to settle for blown out roasties (if anyone) because it's illegal to fuck the jailb8s any more.

Holy fuck, who let the dumbest child who ever lived onto the computer unsupervised.

Kill yourself for being this stupid. Just fucking kill yourself and save us the horror of knowing you exist on this planet, you stupid piece of shit.

Any other recommendations? I've read that and Oblomov (other robotish character).
I've read all the Charles Bukowski books (don't know if Hank Chinaski would be considered a robot) and Catcher in the Rye (who hasn't?)

single mothers didn't exist you idiot they were shunned by society and seen as whores by most people instead of strong independent wymen like today.

I'm a fossil and essentially lifelong robot so here goes.

>Were they just public outcasts that nobody talked to?
yes

Still had my mom(still do(not dead)) back when I still was at school, she is a real supportive, we sometimes baked cookies and stuff.

>come home.
>eat dinner
>do homework
>watch TV, I had my own 20" in my room
>3 channels
>remember I used to watch heartbeat or zap between then zap between the 3 channels for hours on end

in retrospect it was dull as shit, but such was life.
I remember parent teacher day, the teacher would voice their worry that I had no friends.
nothing ever came of it.

bad memories man.

In the 1990s there was the early internet, and "robots" of the time congregated there because it was pretty much only for weirdos (vbulletin message boards, IRC chatrooms and whatnot).

But if we look to the days before the internet, specifically the 70s/80s:

70s/80s
>Work as a stock clerk or some shit (you could live off those jobs and you could get one by dressing like a human and "just go in and ask for the manager firm handshake and a smile!")
>Go home and drink and watch TV or rent movies from the video store (video stores had a wide variety and selection... unlike Netflix which is just popular TV shows and hollywood movies)
>Roam/drive around your town/city at night (you wouldn't get harassed by police or accused of crimes just for being out at night)
>Drink in dive bars alone (if you had a car you could just drive to the bar because no one actually went to jail or got put on probation for DWI, you just had to go to classes and shit)
>Adult entertainment was a process not an instant gratification thing, you could get porn but you had to get it from an adult shop, or you went to peep shows, strip clubs

>>24120062

You could do that as recently as the 80s.

Computers and facebook ruined that lifestyle completely.
