I don't think it's the age that's frowned upon in this case so much as the lifestyle. Different things needed in a relationship when you're out on your own as opposed to in school. I don't personally agree, but to each their own I guess.

Well I dated an 18 year old at 23 and no one gave a shit (her parents loved me) so I imagine 20 and 17 would be fine.
Then again, my ex was in college so maybe it'd be a little different for someone out of high school to be dating someone in high school.

Personally I think in general it's bad a 20 year old and a 17 year old, because you would be at very different stages of life. When you're 25 and 22 it's not a big deal, but when one is still in high school and one is in college or working it's pretty strange.
I'm 24 and even college girls seem really young to me now, just because I've been working full time for a while and am pretty jaded on college.
That said I think if the 17 year old is mature then it's probably okay idk.
But if the 20 year old is immature he should be purged.
