When you have a girlfriend, and she's a good one, you have a partner who will always be there for you. Mine has set me up for interviews with Google, FCA, and a number of other large, high-paying corporations. I feel like I'm the single most important person in her life, and I know that she'd like to marry me some day as long as we keep going steady and well.
On the other hand, I do feel as if my freedom has been significant curtailed. She moans and whines about how much I travel, gets annoyed if I don't take all of her career advice, and yells at me more about my future than my own mother. It's not just her, either - women, no matter how great they are, always entail some level of sacrifice. Guaranteed, you will end up limiting things you really, truly enjoy to please them.
