Watching my father raise two other kids that absolutely hated him made me not want children at all. You spend ~22 years raising them and your not even guaranteed to have children that love or respect you. Granted, he was a bad father emotionally, he gave us everything we needed. That just scares me even more, that you cant just buy your kids things to make them turn out okay. I don't know the first thing about children and being a father.
Plus, my mom and him aren't working out but they're attached by three kids so he feels as if he can't leave. Even though his kids don't even acknowledge him anymore.
