Has anyone re-watched this once they've gotten older?
I'd recommend it. I watched it the other night and noticed a huge amount of symbolism I missed as a kid. There's something almost every frame. For being the normie Chinese cartoon movie it's actually deeper than it first appears.
Also general Vietnamese chicken-stuffing thead I guess.

Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time
Great movie.
Not my favourite Studio Ghibli movie though.

>not ecchi
>not haram
Get the fuck back to /a/ you piece of shit
gets better with every watch
I have low hopes for the live action film

Watched it in college when my life was yet again falling apart, that was a few years ago. I can't really recall it but I recall it was good.
Haven't seen it

Also saw it when I was kid, loved it.
Can confirm spirited away is best film ever made
Porco Rosso is the best Ghibli movie.
Anything else is just for children.
>tfw skipped on ghibli films as a child
I don't care how normie it is, it's probably my favourite movie. Also I love that soundtrack.
Plus most of the other Ghibli movies are great.

You missed out son. I remember Toonami running a marathon of all the Miyazaki films back to back one Saturday when I was younger. That was a good weekend.

Spirited Away was the only one I saw as a kid, and it scared the shit out of me for some reason. I guess it was No-Face.
The rest I saw as a teenager and turned me into a weeb for a while.

I remember that
Me and my brother stopped watching toonami in 04-05, if tuned in just a little longer I could've experienced ghibli in the proper form rather than a jaded adult

No-Face?
This shit was far scarier to me.

My Ghibli fav is probably Nausicaa, will need to rewatch them some day.

>muh environment
>muh savage wolf princess
Movie sucked desu

But it didn't demonize the gunsmiths drilling for iron. They were good guys too, and the protag just sorted everything out. That's why it was great, desu lad.

>I don't care about the environment
Edgy.
I never watched it as a kid, but I remember watching it in a /b/ stream back in 2010. Was great.
no way, a Ghibli movie has deeper than surface themes? tell me more, OP.
or can someone post the Nausicaa manga where she fucks a bug and then turns into a bug
>>24085200
That whole first part where her parents turn into pigs freaked me the fuck out as a kid.
Also watching grave of the fireflies as an 8 year old was probably silly. I can appreciate it now but at the time it really affected me.

>watched it for the first time a few weeks ago
>start crying at the end because Chihiro will never be a carefree and adventurous child again, and neither will you
Id recommend watching it while you're high

>tfw mummy wouldn't let me watch Cambodian rotoscoping because it's 'ugly'
>>24084925
Was a huge staple of my childhood that left me filled with imagination and joy. Yeah you should feel bad for missing out.
Every time I watch now I get to watch a great movie and a nostalgia trip.
