Who else /payday/ here?
Wage slaves report in. Just got my ~$1500 biweekly paycheck dropped today. Feels good.
If you're making 1500 every two weeks you're not a wageslave, nigga. That's a livable income.
I'm making half that. Almost all my income goes straight to living expenses, I have no disposable income whatsoever unless you count my credit card and its increasing debt.
I'm a failure. Please kill me senpai

Yes I am a wage slave. I still am employed by someone else. I still have to 'slave' away for my 'wage.'
Just because I don't make minimum wage doesn't make me any less of a wage slave.

That's not what the term means.
Maybe that's what the autistic fucks here think the term means.
"Wage slavery refers to a situation where a person's livelihood depends on wages or a salary, especially when the dependence is total and immediate."
>>24066918
>Impressed with a $1500 paycheck.
>>24066804
Well, there's always the other option

CoL varies wildly. Unlivable in NYC but it would provide a perfectly acceptable life in Houston, for a young guy.
2500 biweekly after taxes. it's good being able to fly places to see old friends & have fun
Not till next Friday but I just checked my checking account and I still have around 750 after bills and rent so I'm pretty happy.

If you get your boipussy fucked it's cause you wanted it fucked.
I get paid next week. Should be like 1000.
Things would be a lot more tolerable if I got paid weekly instead of biweekly (don't get paid till next week).
>apprentice in machining
>love it
it doesn't even feel like work sometimes. it just feels like building a really complex, satisfying lego puzzle and getting paid to do it

Precision stuff, custom shop.
Basically, we get blueprints/drawings for small batches of things - 1 of this, 4 of these, etc. Sometimes, they give us a whole assembly to do, and each of us works on a different part to make.
There are no "production" jobs, IE make 20'000 of these for a month straight.
Something different almost everyday. Variety is key.
>worked 2 days at a job 3 weeks ago
>have a check sitting at the place
>too scared to go get it
Will they just mail it to me or should I just forget about it forever?
>>24067338

Anyone else work for a few months, then NEET it up for the rest of the year living off of savings?
I work in Alaska during the summers making about 2.5k-3k/week for about 4 months, then hole myself up for basically all of Fall/Winter/Spring playing vidya and watching anime.
>>24067016
So yeah, that includes doctors making $300k/year. So many people like you struggle with the basic definition of words like wage slave and the term sounds more pitiable than contemptible which is why I always push for wagekek to be used. It better sums up the experience in ways others can understand and better expresses the contemptibility of them.
My stupid payday ($1083 fortnightly) comes the day after rent is due ($305 fortnightly) so it always feels like I can't spend my whole paycheque.
>>24069359
fuck, this sounds awesome
what do you do?
i made 170 dollars. fucking part time student wanting to kill myself
>>24069359
Do you work at resorts/cruises? I've thought about doing that.
Plan is to do Alaska next summer, then use the experience/money from that to get a passport and start doing cruise ships over summer, college in winter, then get a degree in a foreign language/business and work as a translator, ideally making trade deals n shit in South/Central America since it's growing so much, I know Spanish kind of, like the culture, and bilingual whites get paid more for being bilingual than any random beaner could hope to. I want to finally cash in on my white privilege, senpai.
Experience working customer service around a bunch of foreigners should help with that.
If you're doing seasonal work in Alaska do you have any tips on how to get hired for someone with relatively few skills?
