I blame it on the diet - even my grandpa had a full set of hair and a beard. He ate a balanced diet of meat and veggies

Shortsightedness is caused by spending too much time indoors while growing up. This has been proven. But it affects both sexes, it's just that chick always wear contacts improve their looks.
