Completely agree with everything you said, it's comfy living like this but I slightly regret it as my roommate and I never go out socially. It definitely has a bearing on your interactions with people, it's as simple as being a lack of practice.
As for being 'fucked up mentally' honestly you get used to it, as you get older you'll most likely be living by yourself or one other person so it's good to get used to it from an early age.
