I found an old Stanley intellisensor 77-110 stud finder that wasn't working so I opened it up and found the red and black wires were not connected. I tried to figure out where they go but no luck. Are there any electronic fags out there to help me out?

TLDR: where do I attach positive and negative wires?

red and black, are like you say, normally + and -, but since they have a bend in them, either they wrap around to the front of the circuit board, or they were hooked into the same solder points as the 9v connection. Can you see any broken wires hanging out anywhere? may have to unscrew the 3 circuit board screws and investigate the front side for missing points.

wait, i got it.. was there a physical contact switch on the front of the unit, or a power switch? that's probably what it went to.
