Thought I'd try a Civ quest cause why not.
There are several choices of races and each race as a relatively original backstories which I can further iterate on either before or after race choice.
Choices being
Humans-Extremely zealous in nature, humans tend to have the most ambition. Easy to rouse and rally for common purpose.
Elves-Immortal on their lands, the elves live in what are known as Oasis, where life thrives to suit their needs. Upon leaving, however, they maintain a normal lifespan similar to humans.
Orcs-Tribal race in which all sectors of livelihood, from war to trade to birthing, are set into separate tribes. You will take lead of a newly spawned elder tribe who's main purpose is to lead others.
Goblins-Extremely adaptable. Goblins constantly evolve and adapt to their situation. Magic comes naturally to them and they tend to 'scavenge' other races cultures, darkening them to their means.
While I wait for response, I'll delve more into the world a bit.

Any preference in a type of region? Take your pick of any kind you want. Mountains, deserts, swamps, plains, etc.
>>8868
Eh, How about mountains? I haven't seen a civ game based in the mountains for a while.
By the way, what general era is this starting in?
>>8902
Ancient Era. No firearms, simple weaponry which may eventually be improved. Mostly spears, swords, and bows with possibility of researching to an extend to find various pole arms or eventually crossbows. Magic is relatively simplistic, based on elementary mastering more than anything, though 'arcane' magic does exist which is more or less unstable as hell and unknown. Arcane is usually based on religious faith and can be strengthened through sacrifices and offerings.
Also pick a name and a type of leader you want.
You will be a Colony coming from the Kingdom of Lorian to the Mountain ranges to the west should there be no more replies.
You can choose to be a bastion of defense in the region, the beginnings of a trade empire, or any other village you can think to make. Note that you do not need to be tethered to any kingdom as the game goes on, it's just the start of the adventure.
Again voting can still go on for the next 5-10 minutes or so before I start.

Alright, what are the neighboring realms, and is there a majority religion?
What ever race we pick, I vote for our leader to be a "pretty boy" who's always LG out in public, but turns into the lycanthrope of a hideous animal (vulture, goose, etc.) when he looses his temper/needs to establish order.

As far as your knowledge is, there is nothing beyond this mountain pass you have really discovered. It's mostly a staging point for further investigation into the region as well as an area with excessive wealth as far as gold and Iron. To the east lies the Kingdom of Lorian which is the largest country, though there are several other Kingdoms, all of which are Human. Orcs are excessively common out here, though usually on the smithing tribes. Occasionally their warbands venture, but even then they are likely to be as friendly as you are to them. Goblins infest most of the caves and abandoned mines and have various simplistic settlements.
The major religion of the Human empires is Followers of Lathar which is more or less a religion that holds an ancient hero Lathar responsible for the formation of the Human kingdoms and the pushback of the Goblin tribes to the swamp and desert regions of the far east. It is an offshoot of an original religion which is more or less a basic monotheistic religion. It is thought that Lathar joined god and began what is to be a Pantheon of the great heroes of humanity. Generally within the Country of Lorian it tends to be extremely xenophobic.

I like this, but we should go with the classic lycanthrope, the werewolf. All-terrain and a classic.
>>9002
If we do a wolf, we'll just rip off The Wolf Among Us.
Someone who tries to be likable, but keeps reminding everyone that he's nothing but a savage man/maggot mongoloid is something that hasn't been done yet.

Not!Navajo
>>9014
A religious order which split off with the mainstream and is basically a cult.
Also senpai, just to spite you, we'll turn into were-men first chance we get.
>>9048
Dragon worship as our ancestors with a slice of xenophobia, feel free to expand further.
>>9048
Desert race. Tribal council. Agriculture of tequila plants/maize. Skinwalkers.
Other anons can fill the rest.
Interesting, it seems we're playing a tribe with heavy religious aspects which worships dragons as a sort of ancestor, perhaps also believing that those chosen become ascended to half-dragons maybe? (sainthood)
I think we should start on our leader.

Seconding this, has a lot of potential for deepest lore and for making shit up as we go.
Paarthunax is the best waifu in tamriel.
Are you alive OP?
